Why do we need financial support?

After assessing Enger Tower and Park it is outdated and in definite need of restoration due to deterioration and much needed updates. Renovation and improvements to the tower will be made with repairs such as tuck pointing, plaster, concrete patching, electrical and lighting repair, weatherization, roof repair and increased accessibility. Currently the limited park facilities will be replaced with new updated facilities to increase accessibility and accommodate the needs of current and future park visitors; upgraded trails to accommodate all visitors; new plantings; and accessible washrooms.

The 2011 Restoration Project is extremely important and vital to our community and region. Your donation will lend support to critical work that will take place this summer to breathe new life into Enger Tower and Park. Participation from the Duluth community is critical to the success of this project to ensure we are able to continue to have such a beautiful and iconic place for our community and tourists to visit.

Enger Tower will undergo significant work to the structure and lighting which is funded in part with a centennial grant from the Rotary Club 25 of Duluth. All of the upgrades will culminate in a rededication ceremony in October 17, 2011. Duluthians will experience a historic rededication of Enger Tower with the visit of King Harald from Norway.

As an individual, business, or civic organization here are different ways you can become involved with the restoration project.
