The Future of Enger Tower

During the next few months the Enger Tower renovation and lighting project, which is being funded by a grant from the Rotary Club 25 of Duluth and Duluth tourism tax funds, will be in full swing. The Tower will undergo the much needed renovation and repairs such as tuck pointing, plaster and concrete patching, electrical and lighting repair, weatherization, roof repair and increased accessibility. The anticipated completion date for this portion of improvements is early June 2011.

After assessing Enger Park is has been decided outdated and limited park facilities will be replaced with new updated facilities to increase accessibility and accommodate the needs of current and future park visitors; upgraded trails to accommodate all visitors; new plantings; and accessible washrooms. These efforts are estimated to cost nearly $300,000. In order to accomplish this second phase of improvements the City of Duluth has begun a fund-raising campaign. This is a unique opportunity to donate money to
enhance the most historic park in Duluth.
